Building the inner foundation for lasting personal development

The Foundation Stage is the first four weeks of the Unleash Your Power coaching journey.

It is designed to help students begin understanding their inner world, become more aware of their thoughts, develop greater control over their attention and establish the mental discipline required for the later stages of the Master Key System.

This stage is not about rushing towards instant results. It is about creating a strong foundation through study, stillness, concentration, reflection and consistent daily practice.

Over four weeks, students are guided through a structured process that helps them move from scattered thinking towards greater clarity, purpose and self-awareness.

How much meditation is required?

Each day includes approximately 45 minutes to read the chapter and 30 minutes for the meditation exercise, for four complete weeks.

The calculation is:

30 minutes of meditation exercise per day 7 days per week 4 weeks 28 days in total

This equals:

840 minutes of meditation exercise, or around 14 hours of meditation practice.

These 14 hours are not intended to be completed all at once. They are built gradually through a consistent 30-minute daily meditation exercise, alongside the daily chapter reading.

The purpose is to help students develop the discipline of becoming physically still, observing their thoughts and learning to direct their attention towards a chosen purpose.

Week 1: One Consciousness – One Power

During the first week, students begin exploring the relationship between the world within and the world without.

The Master Key System presents the outer world as a reflection of the inner world. Students are encouraged to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, attitudes and habitual patterns.

The first exercise is simple but important: sitting comfortably and upright, remaining physically still and learning to gain control over the body.

Skillsets developed in Week 1

By the end of the first week, students should begin developing:

1. Awareness of their inner thoughts and feelings. 2. Recognition of the connection between inner and outer conditions. 3. The ability to sit quietly and remain physically still. 4. Greater observation of habitual thinking. 5. An initial understanding of thought as a cause and conditions as effects.

My coaching support in Week 1

This is where my support is especially important.

I back students when the exercise feels unfamiliar or difficult. I motivate them to continue when their mind becomes restless. I inspire them by helping them recognise that small daily practices can create a meaningful foundation. Most importantly, I empower them to take responsibility for their own inner development.

Students are not left to struggle alone with the first exercise. They receive encouragement, direction and accountability as they begin building the habit.

Week 2: One Method of Finding the Truth

In Week 2, students study the different functions of the conscious and subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is described as having the power of discrimination, choice, reasoning and will. The subconscious mind is presented as carrying out important mental and physical processes.

Students are encouraged to become more careful about the thoughts and suggestions they accept.

The conscious mind is described as the “watchman at the gate”. This gives students a practical way to think about their responsibility for guarding the mental impressions they repeatedly allow into their mind.

Skillsets developed in Week 2

By the end of the second week, students should begin developing:

1. A clearer understanding of conscious and subconscious activity. 2. Greater awareness of the thoughts they accept. 3. Improved ability to distinguish between constructive and destructive thinking. 4. More deliberate use of choice and reasoning. 5. Greater responsibility for the suggestions they give themselves.

My coaching support in Week 2

I help students examine their thinking without becoming overwhelmed by it.

I back them as they learn to notice recurring thoughts. I motivate them to become more selective about the ideas they continue to entertain. I inspire them to see that mental awareness is a skill that develops through practice. I empower them to become the guardian of their own mind rather than allowing every thought to control their direction.

Week 3: Thoughts Become Things

In Week 3, students begin moving from general wishes towards a clearer desire and definite purpose.

The Master Key System explains that thought becomes more powerful when it is concentrated upon a definite purpose. Students are therefore encouraged to identify a worthy purpose and begin directing their attention towards it.

This is an important stage because many people think about numerous goals without giving sustained attention to any of them.

The coaching process helps students begin bringing greater clarity and direction to their thinking.

Skillsets developed in Week 3

By the end of the third week, students should begin developing:

1. A clearer understanding of their personal purpose. 2. The ability to identify scattered or conflicting thoughts. 3. Greater skill in directing attention towards one chosen idea. 4. A stronger connection between thought and intention. 5. Increased responsibility for the direction of their development.

My coaching support in Week 3

I help students clarify what they are working towards and why it matters to them.

I back them when uncertainty appears. I motivate them to return to their chosen purpose when distractions arise. I inspire them to think with greater clarity and confidence. I empower them to understand that their development requires their own thinking, participation and consistent application.

The purpose is not for me to think on the student’s behalf. My role is to guide, encourage and help them develop their own ability to think clearly and deliberately.

Week 4: The True “Self”

Week 4 brings the first part of the Foundation Stage together.

Students begin applying concentration and visualisation by forming a constructive mental image connected with their chosen purpose.

The Master Key System presents thought as energy and concentrated thought as concentrated energy. The student’s task is to practise holding attention upon a definite idea and to return to that idea when the mind wanders.

This is where understanding begins to become application.

Skillsets developed in Week 4

By the end of the fourth week, students should begin developing:

1. Greater ability to concentrate upon one idea. 2. Improved control over wandering attention. 3. The ability to form a clearer mental image. 4. A practical understanding of thought as creative energy. 5. The habit of connecting inner thought with outward action.

My coaching support in Week 4

I back students as they practise holding their attention for longer periods.

I motivate them to continue even when concentration does not feel easy. I inspire them to recognise progress in consistency rather than perfection. I empower them to take practical action that is aligned with their purpose.

By the end of the fourth week, students should understand that the principles are not simply ideas to read about. Their value comes through study, practice and application.

The five core skillsets developed across the Foundation Stage

Across the four weeks, students begin developing five essential skillsets:

1. Inner awareness

Students become more conscious of their thoughts, feelings, attitudes and habitual mental patterns.

2. Physical stillness

Students practise sitting quietly and gaining greater control over the physical body.

3. Mental discernment

Students learn to observe the thoughts and suggestions they accept and repeat.

4. Concentration

Students begin directing and sustaining their attention upon a chosen purpose.

5. Visualisation and application

Students practise forming a constructive mental image and connecting their inner purpose with practical action.

The unique support I provide

The principles of the Master Key System are studied individually, but students do not have to feel alone during the process.

My unique contribution is the personal support I provide each week:

I back students when they face difficulty. I motivate them to maintain their daily practice. I inspire them to recognise their own potential for development. I empower them to think, practise and apply the principles for themselves. * I provide structure, encouragement and accountability throughout the Foundation Stage.

The student remains responsible for their own thinking and practice, but they receive guidance and support while developing the discipline to continue.

What students should understand by the end of four weeks

After completing the Foundation Stage, students should have established a clearer understanding of:

The relationship between the inner and outer worlds. The conscious and subconscious mind. The importance of guarding mental impressions. The value of a definite purpose. The role of concentration and visualisation. The importance of daily practice and application.

Across the four weeks, they will have completed approximately 21 hours of chapter reading and 14 hours of meditation practice, alongside eight 45-minute Zoom coaching calls — six hours of live Zoom coaching in total and approximately 41 hours of total commitment.

More importantly, they will have begun developing the mental habits required for the next stage of the journey.
